MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College football team will have nine of its 10 regular-season games on the radio this season in the Twin Cities for the first time since 2004, airing on KYCR-AM 1570.

The Auggies' nine afternoon games, starting with the home opener against Concordia-Wisconsin on Sept. 12 at 1 p.m., will be aired on KYCR, a business-format radio station serving the entire Twin Cities area.

In addition to radio coverage, Augsburg will continue its longtime association with Stretch Internet for live video/audio webcasts of Auggie athletic events. All 10 regular-season games, along with more than 120 events in 11 other Auggie sports, will feature video and audio coverage via Augsburg's Stretch Internet portal, along with live statistics of home events.

Returning to cover Augsburg sports is veteran Twin Cities broadcaster Tom Witschen, who has called Auggie sporting events since 1997 and was the recipient of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Mike Augustin Award in 2013. His company, TJ Broadcast Services, broadcasts numerous collegiate and high school sporting events in the Twin Cities.

Joining Witschen on the football broadcasts will be Augsburg alum Mike Gallagher '11, who also does play-by-play on a variety of Auggie sports on the Stretch Internet portal.
