Irving leads Auggies at St. Olaf Invitational

MEET RESULTS

NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The Augsburg College women's cross country team claimed a 14th-place finish at the 2015 St. Olaf College Invitational on Saturday. Taybri Irving (JR, Rosemount, Minn.) led the Auggie women, finishing 29th with a time of 23:54.0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mary Cornelius (SR, Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins HS) finished in 40th with a time of 24:18.4, while Rachel Frantz (SO, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) finished in 73rd with a time of 25:18.1.
Katie Davidson (SO, Crookston, Minn.) and Caitlin Olson (FY, Onamia, Minn.) both finished the six-kilometer course under the 30-minute mark, with times of 27:18.1 and 28:25.1 respectively.  Davidson and Olson's times were good enough for the fourth and fifth scoring spots for the Auggies. 
Silvia Cha (FY, Prior Lake, Minn.) and Athena Cloud (FY, Red Lake, Minn./Bemidji HS) also competed for the Auggies, finishing with times of 33:13.7 and 39:21.2 respectively. 

FOR THE FOES
• The University of Minnesota-Duluth won the event scoring 50 points. Hannah Olson led the Bulldogs with a time of 22:19.2. 
• Senior Ruth Steinke of Carleton won the race with a time of 22:03.8.

• "It was a good day for the women overall. Our top three women especially ran great races. We are working on closing the gap between our 3-5 runners, which will make us even more competitive than previous years. It was a good start for our first 6K race of the season."
