Salan paces Auggies at Augsburg Open

MEET RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS -- Abdullahi Salan (SR, Burnsville, Minn.) led the Augsburg College men's cross country team at the 5,000-meter Augsburg Open triangular meet at Riverside Park on Saturday morning, finishing second overall with a time of 16:04.3.

Bethel took home first place, scoring 22 points, while St. Olaf finished in second with 42, and the Auggies scored 68 in the opening meet of the season. The Royals' Matt Berens finished in first with a time of 15:30.9.

Rounding out the scoring for the Auggie runners were Mohamed Mohamed (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) in 12th with a time of 16:55.6, Luke Erickson (JR, Chippewa Falls, Wis.) in 17th with a time of 17:25.0, Chriss Huss (JR, Jordan, Minn.) in 20th with a time of 17:39, Ibrahim Barqadle (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Fridley HS) in 25th with a time of 18:21.9, and Ryan Moore (FY, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) in 26th with a time of 18:37.5.  

The Auggies returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 19 when they travel to Northfield, Minn. to race in the St. Olaf College Invitational.
