MEET RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College women's cross country team started its season with a dual meet against Bethel University. The Royals edged the Auggies by a score of 24 to 35 in the 5,000-meter meet at Riverside Park on Saturday morning.

Leading the way for Augsburg were Taybri Irving (JR, Rosemount, Minn.), Mary Cornelius (SR Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins), and Rachel Frantz (SO, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) who placed second, fourth and sixth with times of 19:32.7, 20:26.1, and 21:09.8 respectively. 

Rounding out the top-six placing positions for the Auggies were Katie Davidson (SO, Crookston, MInn.) and Caitlin Olson (FY, Onamia, Minn.), with times of 22:19.6 and 22:36.3 respectively. Bethel's Annika Halverson won the 5k for the second consecutive year with a time of 19:13.5. 

The Auggies return to action Saturday, Sept. 19 when they travel to Northfield, Minn. to race in the St. Olaf College Invitational.
