MEET RESULTS

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Augsburg College women's track and field team jump started its indoor season with a great showing at the University of St. Thomas Opener meet at Anderson Fieldhouse on Friday. The Auggie women had two first-place finishes and a total of six in the top five.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Callie Jones (JR, Waubeka, Wis./Random Lake HS) won two events, the 60-meter dash and the long jump. Jones' time of 8.13 seconds was good enough to beat out four St. Thomas sprinters and a St. Olaf sprinter. Jones also finished in first in the long jump with a distance of 5.31 meters (17-feet-5.25).
• Elizabeth Hickey (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin Derham Hall HS) competed in the 60-meter dash, finishing in fifth with a time of 8.57 seconds. Hickey also competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 11th with a time of 29.18 seconds. 
• Rachel Frantz (FY, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) had a strong showing in the mile run, as she recorded a time of 5:54.12 and a third-place finish. 
• Kali Kuusisto (JR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) earned two top-five finishes in throwing events, finishing fourth in the shot put and third in weight throw. Kuusisto tossed the shot put 8.42 meters (27-feet-7.5) and the weight throw 13.41 meters (44-feet-0.0).
