Salan scores second-place finish for Auggies

MEET RESULTS

SAINT PAUL, Minn. -- Abdul Salan (SR, Burnsville, Minn.) was the top finisher for the Augsburg College men's cross country team, taking second place at the St. Catherine University Invitational on Saturday morning.

THE BASICS
TEAM RESULTS: Augsburg 3rd/3 (69).
LOCATION: St. Catherine University, St. Paul, Minn.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Salan was the top finisher for Augsburg, finishing second overall with a time of 12:46.71 in the 4,000-meter race.
• As a team, Augsburg finished third in the three-team meet with 69 points. St. Thomas won the meet with 25 team points and Hamline was second with 47 points.
• Chris Huss (SR, Jordan, Minn.) finished 27th (2nd team) for Augsburg in 13:33.23. 
• Finishing third for the Auggies in the 4,000-meter race was Andrew McGillivary (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./South West HS) who finished 30th overall in 13:42.38, while Ryan Moore (SO, St. Michael, Minn.) finished 35th (3rd team) in 13:51.27. 
•  Jacob Van Houtan (FY, Champlin, Minn.) finished 44th overall (5th team) in 14:27.63, Benjamin Erickson (SO, Andover, Minn./PACT Charter School) finished 45th overall (6th team) in 14:42.78, and Yasir Said (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Harding HS) finished 47th (7th team) in 15:12.61

FOR THE FOES
• St. Thomas claimed victory with 69 team points.
