MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College cross country program will hold the Augsburg Elite Distance Academy camp for junior high and high school runners from June 25-29, 2017 at the Augsburg campus.
Participants in grades 7-12 will be equipped and empowered to reach goals in both distance running and life, learning from national championship runners Heather Kampf and
Meghan Peyton. Kampf is a four-time U.S. national champion, Team USA Minnesota member and three-time Olympic Trials competitor. Peyton, head coach for Augsburg's men's and women's cross country teams, has competed on the professional level for several years with Team USA Minnesota and is a 20K national champion. Kampf and Peyton will be assisted by Augsburg assistant coaches
Joe Arnold and
Rebecca Wesley, along with Augsburg athletes and alumni runners.
At the Augsburg Elite Distance Academy, students will learn from the best of the best about how to be an elite runner, a strong and confident leader, and a humble servant to your community. Students will run side-by-side with passionate and experienced elite runners, hear from knowledgeable guest speakers, work as a team to tackle leadership challenges with the U.S. Marine Corps, and even go out and do some good for the Minneapolis community.
The camp will run from June 25-29 on the Augsburg campus. Cost of the camp is $385, which includes housing, meals, a t-shirt, Augsburg insurance and a unique Auggie experience. Cost for commuters-only is $315. Campers can register online at
