MEET RESULTSNORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The Augsburg College women's track and field team returned to action at the Carleton Meet of Hearts along with nine other teams, including six total Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams, on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED• Callie Jones (JR, Waubeka, Wis./Random Lake HS) recorded the top Auggie finish when she came in third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.79 seconds. Her time is currently third-best in the MIAC in the event. • Jones also recorded a top-five finish in the long jump. Her distance of 4.84 meters (15-feet-10.5) was good enough for fourth. Jones' best long jump distance (17-feet-5.25) of the indoor season is currently second-best in the MIAC. • Kali Kuusisto (JR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstromg HS) finished in fifth in the weight throw as she recorded a distance of 13.24 meters (43-feet-5). Her best distance of 47-feet-3.75 at the Macalester Triangular is second-best in the MIAC. •
Mary Cornelius (JR, Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins HS) claimed a fourth-place finish in the mile run with a time of 5:20.76. Her time is currently eighth-best in the MIAC in the event.
• Elizabeth Hickey (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin Derham Hall HS) finished eighth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.97 seconds, besting six other MIAC athletes for the top-10 finish.• Silvia Cha (FY, Prior Lake, Minn.) competed in the 800-meter run, finishing 20th with a time of 3:03.10.• Mary Stimson competed in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.35 meters (4-feet-5).
