Wrestling - 2016 NCAA Division III West Regional Medical Information

Coaches and Sports Medicine Personnel of the West Regional Wrestling Teams:
Augsburg College will be hosting the NCAA Division III West Regional Wrestling Meet on February 27, 2016. It is important that you review the following information as it pertains to your team and student-athletes.

Prior to Tournament:
• Collect all skin sheets as required by the NCAA. Anything suspicious on the skin REQUIRES a doctor's signature on this particular form. Failure to fill out forms can lead to a disqualification of your student-athlete on the morning of the tournament.
• Ask your team's athletic trainer or sports medicine assistant to travel with your team for this event. If they are unable to attend, please send a letter notifying us of any student-athlete treatment needs.
• Please bring a medical kit with supplies for your team -- most importantly, student-athlete emergency contact information.

Day of Tournament:
• Skin checks will be done by Certified Athletic Trainers. There will be two weight classes to a line (five lines total). The physician on site will have the FINAL say on any and all skin issues; therefore it is helpful to have a NCAA skin sheet to aid in his final decision.
• There will be a sports medicine physician on-site through the duration of the meet.
• Athletic training services will be provided both mat-side as well as at a medical station in the gym. Access to the athletic training room will be available for hot packs and therapeutic modalities (only with written permission by the team's athletic trainer). Ice and water will be available in the gym.
