Woody leads Auggies at Kilt Classic

MEET RESULTS

ST. PAUL -- The Augsburg College women's track and field team competed at the Kilt Classic at Macalester College on Friday  in its final tuneup before the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships next week.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Nikaylah Woody (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Johnson HS) recorded a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.59 seconds.
• Callie Jones (JR, Waubeka, Wis./Random Lake HS), who is ranked in the top five in the MIAC in three events, competed in the long jump on Friday and finished third with a distance of 5.12 meters (16-feet-9.5).
• Ashley Waalen (JR, Amery, Wis.) finished fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.29 seconds, and Elizabeth Hickey (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin Derham Hall HS) finished sixth with a time of 8.39 seconds.
• Mary Cornelius (JR, Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins HS) competed in the 600-meter run, finishing fourth with a time of 1:42.30.
• Caitlin Olson (FY, Onamia, Minn.) finished the 800-meter run in fifth with a time of 2:38.20.
• Rachel Frantz (FY, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) competed in the 3,000-meter run, finishing in eighth with a time of 11:25.66.

• In the mile run, Emma Blom (JR, Culver, Minn./South Ridge HS) finished sixth with a time of 5:38.52, while Blair Stewig (SO, Maple Lake, Minn.) finished ninth with a time of 5:42.12.
• 
Mary Stimson (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) finished seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.41 meters (4-feet-7.5).
• Katie Hedrick (JR, Norwalk, Wis./Sparta HS) recorded a distance of 12.15 meters (39-feet-10) in the weight throw, good enough for eighth place.
• Augsburg's 4x400 relay team of Juweria Hasson (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS), Silvia Cha (FY, Prior Lake, Minn.), Stewig, and Frantz finished fourth with a time of 4:30.91.

UP NEXT
The Auggies will return to action next week at the MIAC Indoor Championships (3/3-5) at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
