Saturday, March 5MEN'S MEET RESULTS | WOMEN'S MEET RESULTSNorthfield, Minn. -- The Augsburg College men's track and field team finished the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference indoor championships in seventh place with 50 points, improving on the 46 points it earned at the 2015 indoor championships. The Augsburg women's track and field team finished 10th with 26 points, improving on its 11th-place, 18-point performance last year.Â
Callie Jones recorded Augsburg's top finish on day two of the indoor championships as she finished sixth in 200-meter dash with a time of 26.62 seconds.
Taybri Irving followed up her second-place performance in the 5,000-meter run yesterday by finishing ninth in the 3,000-meter run on day two with a time of 10:29.22.Â
Mary Cornelius finished 12th in the 600-meter dash with a time of 1:42.17, while the Augsburg relay teams in the 4x200-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay finished eighth and 10th respectively.Â
Emmanuel Egbujor recorded his second conference championship of the weekend, winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.31 seconds, while
Barinedum Kordah finished seventh with a time of 22.810. Augsburg's 4x200-meter relay team of
Preston Blake,
Undre Smith-Brewer, Egbujor and Kordah finished second with a time of 1:30.44, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Kordah,
Wilson Musabyimana,
Mohamed Mohamed, and Egbujor finished seventh with a time of 3:27.00. Mohamed placed 10th in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:34.10. Abduallahi Salan finished 19th in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:00.26.Â

Friday, March 4MEN'S FRIDAY RESULTS | WOMEN'S FRIDAY RESULTS
Northfield, Minn. -- The Augsburg College men's and women's indoor track and field teams started competition at the MIAC indoor championships at the Carleton College Recreation Center in Northfield, Minn on Friday afternoon. The Auggies claimed three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships during the first full day of events and will look to build upon those results Saturday.Â

The Auggie women finished day one, after 10 events, in eighth-place with 22.0 points, highlighted by the MIAC 55-meter dash champion Calle Jones defending her title in that event and
Taybri Irving finishing in second-place in the 5,000-meter run.Â
Jones recorded the fastest preliminary time (7.33 seconds), then followed it up with the fastest time in the finals to secure back-2-back 55-meter champion honors with a time of 7.27 seconds. Irving earned second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:02.87, missing out on first-place by 5.22 seconds. The second-place finish is a 15 spot improvement for Irving after finishing 17th at the Indoor Championships in 2015.Â
Kali Kuusisto qualified for the finals in the weight throw and finished fifth with a distance of 46-feet-7.5, while
Mary Cornelius recorded a top-ten finish in the mile run, placing ninth in the mile run with a time of 5:22.34.Â

The Auggie men also finished the first day in eighth-place with 28.0 points.
Undre Smith-Brewer claimed his third-straight 55-meter dash conference championship when he crossed the finish line in 6.44 seconds. Also recording a conference championship, was first-year Auggie
Emmanuel Egbujor, who won the 400-meter dash and set a new Carleton College Recreation Center record with a time of 49.20 seconds.
Barinedum Kordah finished second in the 400-meter dash for the third-time in his career at the MIAC Indoor Championships with a time of 49.30, just one-tenth of a second behind Egbujor.Â
Abdul Salan finished ninth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:21.06, while
Sean Adams placed 10th in the heptathlon with 3,859 points.Â

Championship PreviewThe Augsburg College indoor track and field teams will have 47 entries competing in events this weekend at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, to be held at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
Augsburg will have 47 entries (26 men, 21 women) at the conference indoor meet, which begins on Thursday (3/3) at 2 p.m. with multi-events. Multi-events conclude on Friday with the final heptathlon event (1000-meter run) at 3:00 p.m. Individual and relay events begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, and Saturday's action begins at 11:45 a.m. Both Augsburg squads are aiming to improve from last year in which the women finished in 11th, while the men finished in seventh.
The Auggie men will be led this year by
Emmanuel Egbujor (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS), who is the top seed in the 200-meter dash (22.21), and the 400-meter dash (49.30).Â
Barinedum Kordah (JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) is the No. 5 seed in the 200-meter dash (22.82), No. 3 seed in the 400-meter dash (49.46), No. 3 seed in the long jump (21-feet-10).Â
Undre Smith-Brewer (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Johnson HS), who is the top seed in the 55-meter dash (6.45c) and No. 9 seed in the 200-meter dash (23.03).
On the women's side, leading the way will be junior
Callie Jones (JR, Waubeka, Wis./Random Lake HS), who is the top seed in the 55-meter dash (7.33c), the No. 2 seed in the long jump (17-feet-5.25), and the No. 6 seed in the 200-meter dash (26.79).
Taybri Irving (JR, Rosemount, Minn.) occupies the No. 2 seed in the 5000-meter run (18:03.37), whileÂ
Kali Kuusisto (JR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) is seeded third in the weight throw (47-feet-8.5).Â
