FINALÂ MEN'S RESULTSÂ | FINALÂ WOMEN'S RESULTS

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. --Â The Augsburg College men's and women's track and field teams competed in the final day of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday at Saint John's University. The Auggie men finished in ninth place with 40.0 team points, while the Auggie women finished in 11th place with 28.0 points.
Callie Jones (JR, Waubeka, Wis./Random Lake HS)Â led the Auggie women, earning a conference title in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.44 seconds, her second all-conference honor placement in the MIAC Championships.Â
Taybri Irving (JR, Rosemount, Minn.) finished in fourth place with a time of 18:20.31 in the 5,000-meter run, whileÂ
Mary Cornelius (JR, Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins HS) finished seventh in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:54.47.
Blair Stewig (SO, Maple Lake, Minn.) crossed the finish line in 13th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.Â

On the men's side,
Emmanuel Egbujor (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS) earned two MIAC conference titles, one in the 200-meter dash and another in the 400-meter dash. Egbujor completed the 200-meter dash in 21.76 seconds, while the 400-meter dash took him 48.72 seconds.Â
Undre Smith-Brewer (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Johnson HS), who had the fastest 100-meter dash qualifying time, finished in fourth place with a time of 10.98 seconds.Â
Barinedum Kordah (JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) finished in sixth with a time of 50.25 in the 400-meter dash finals.Â
Abdul Salan (JR, Burnsville, Minn.) finished the 5,000-meter run in ninth place with a time of 15:42.48, while
Mohamed Mohamed (SR, Edina, Minn.) crossed the finish line in 11th in the 1,500-meter run finals with a time of 4:23.26. The Auggie 1,600-meter relay team of Egbujor,
Mohamed Sharif (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS), Mohamed and Kordah finished eighth with a time of 3:24.67.Â

DAY 1 MEN'S RESULTSÂ | DAY 1 WOMEN'S RESULTS

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. --Â The Augsburg College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams started competition at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships at Saint John's University on Friday afternoon.
Barinedum Kordah (JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) recorded a MIAC title in the long jump by two inches with a 6.82-meter finish (22-feet-4.5), and qualified for the finals in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.03 seconds.
The long jump is proving to be a cornerstone event for the Auggies, as
Callie Jones (JR, Waubeka, Wis./Random Lake HS) earned all-conference honors finishing in second place by just 2.75 inches with a 5.56-meter (18-feet-3) performance. Jones also qualified for the 100-meter dash finals with a time of 12.75 seconds.Â

In the women's 10,000-meter run,
Taybri Irving (JR, Rosemount, Minn.) finished sixth with a time of 38:12.61, and
Rachel Frantz (SO, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) finished 17th with a time of 42:02.04.Â
Abdul Salan (JR, Burnsville, Minn.) finished in eighth place in the men's 10,000-meter run finals with a time of 33:20.16 on Friday.Â
The Auggie men finished day one tied for seventh place with 11 points, and have multiple athletes competing in nine different events in the finals tomorrow. The Auggie women are currently in eighth place with 11 points, and they have four athletes ready to score big in the finals on Saturday.Â
Jones qualified for the finals in the 100-meter dash and is set to race for a MIAC championship Saturday at 4:45 p.m. Jones' time of 22.69 seconds in the 200-meter dash was not fast enough to qualify for the finals.
Mary Cornelius (SR, Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins HS) qualified for the finals in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:57.32. The finals for the 1,500-meter run are at 3:55 p.m. on Saturday.
On the men's side, Kordah recorded a MIAC title, and qualified for the finals in the 400-meter dash, while
Emmanuel Egbujor (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS) qualified for the finals in the 200-meter (21.87) and 400-meter dashes (49.47). His qualifying times were the fastest of any competitor and he will be occupying the coveted lane four when the gun goes off at 4:40 p.m. for the 400 and 5:30 p.m. for the 200.Â
Undre Smith-Brewer (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Johnson HS) will be occupying lane five in the 100-meter dash finals on Saturday at 4:50 p.m. as he recorded the second fastest qualifying time of 10.96 seconds on Friday.
Mohamed Mohamed (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) qualified for the finals in the 1,500-meter run, which kicks off at 4:05 p.m. Saturday.
MIAC OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS PREVIEW
The Augsburg College outdoor track and field teams will have 17 entries seeded among the top-10 in individual events at the 2016 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, to be held this weekend (5/13-14) at Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn.
Augsburg will have 29 athletes (16 men, 13 women) competing at the conference outdoor meet, which begins on Friday and Saturday at 2 p.m. Both Augsburg squads are aiming to improve upon finishes from last season where the men were 10th and the women 12th.
On the women's side, Augsburg's
Callie Jones (JR,Waubeka, Wis./Random Lake HS) will be competing in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, and the long jump. Jones currently has the fourth-fastest time in the MIAC in the 100-meter dash (12.47) and 10th-fastest qualifying time in the 200 (26.35). Jones is seeded first in the long jump with her best distance of 5.45-meters (17-feet-10.75).
Taybri Irving (JR, Rosemount, Minn.) occupies the top-seed in the 5,000-meter run (17:29.46), and the second-seed in the 10,000-meter run (36:10.38), while
Mary Cornelius (JR, Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins HS) is seeded eighth in the 1,500-meter run (4:53.49).
Nikaylah Woody (SO, St. Paul, MInn./Johnson HS) earned herself the seventh seed in the 400-meter hurdles with her best time of 67.87 seconds.Â
For the Auggie men,
Emmanuel Egbujor (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS) comes into the MIAC Championships with a target on his back as he owns the top-seed in both the 200-meter dash (21.46) and the 400-meter dash (48.09).
Undre Smith-Brewer (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Johnson HS) also earned himself a top-seed with a season best time of 10.71 seconds in the 100-meter dash. Smith-Brewer is also competing in the 200-meter dash and is seeded 13th (22.49).
Barinedum Kordah (JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) is ranked in the top-10 in three events with his best event being the long jump where he seeded second (7.14-meters/23-feet-5.25). Kordah is seeded fifth in the 400-meter dash (49.39), and ninth in the 200-meter dash (22.25).Â
In the distance events, Augsburg's
Mohamed Mohamed (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) and
Luke Erickson (SR, Chippewa Falls, Minn.) are seeded No. 5 and No. 6 in the 1,500-meter run with times of 4:00.57 and 4:03.70 respectively.
Abdul Salan (JR, Burnsville, Minn.) comes into the weekend ranked in the top-ten in two events; fifth in the 10,000-meter run (32:41.06) and eighth in the 5,000-meter run (15:20.75).Â
Last Thursday and Friday, Augsburg's
Sean Adams (JR, Zumbrota, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa HS)Â competed in the MIAC Decathlon at Carleton, finishing 13th with a 4,906 total points.
