PREVIEW STORY ON AUGSBURG CROSS COUNTRY TRIP

The Augsburg men's and women's cross country teams are in Peru for a nine-day high-altitude training and service trip, the first international trip in the program's history. Head Coach Meghan Peyton is sending photos and updates during the course of the trip.

Visited 500 year old ruins today in Saqsaywaman Park. The government is in the process of restoring these ancient Incan ruins and we were the first tourists to ever see them. We will be doing service work in the park for the next three days. Today, we dug holes to help with reforestation of native trees and shrubs.





 



 

  



 







 





DAYS 1-2 - JANUARY 2-3:
After a long day of travel, we were happy to make it to our hostel in Lima. Off to Cusco this morning and down to Pisac, located at 9,500 feet above sea level. ... In Cusco (gateway to Matchu Picchu) on our way to Pisac, where we will participate in our four-day service project.
