2017 MIAC VOLLEYBALL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
MINNEAPOLIS -- For the second time this season, Augsburg University's
Taylor Linn (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Hitter of the Week, it was announced on Monday.
A middle blocker, Linn had another complete week for Augsburg, which went 2-1 in play last week, contributing 36 kills (3.27 per-set), 47 digs (4.27 per-set) and 12 blocks (three solo, 1.09 per-set). In a five-set nonconference loss to
Minnesota-Morris on Monday, she had 17 kills with 29 digs and eight blocks (two solo), her eighth kill-dig double-double of the year. On Wednesday, she had nine kills and 12 digs in a
sweep at St. Catherine, and on Saturday, she recorded 10 kills on a .421 attack clip -- her sixth .400-plus attack match of the season -- with six digs and three block assists, in a
sweep of Hamline.
On the season, Linn stands fourth
among MIAC players in overall kills per-set (3.32), seventh in attack percentage (.300), fourth in total blocks (46) and 10th in blocks per-set (0.77) for the 13-4 Auggies.
Augsburg travels to face Wisconsin-Stout in a nonconference match on Wednesday (10/4) at 7 p.m., then competes in three matches at the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Invitational this Friday and Saturday (10/6-7).
