Auggies compete at Gene Glader Classic

MEET RESULTS

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -- Patrick Deng (FY, Crookston, Minn.) took second in the 60-meter hurdles, leading the Augsburg College men's track and field team at the Bethel University Gene Glader Classic on Saturday afternoon.  

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Deng took second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.98 seconds. He also placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.56 meters (37-feet-11.25).
• Tyler Rea (JR, Red Wing, Minn.) also competed in the 60-meter hurdles where he finished sixth in 9.37 seconds.
• Deontae Heuer (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Stanley Boyd HS) finished third in the pole vault with a distance of 4.15 meters (13-feet-7.25). 
• Recording a third-place finish for the Auggies was Abdul Salan (SR, Burnsville, Minn.), who finished the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:13.88.
• Chris Huss (SR, Jordan, Minn.) and Ryan Moore (SO, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) also competed in the 3,000-meter run where they finished in 9:49.21 and 10:04.17, respectively.
• Gunnar Melin (SO, Edina, Minn.) competed in the weight throw and finished fourth with a distance of 14.35 meters (47-feet-1). Also competing in the weight throw was Jesse Kuusisto (SR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) who finished sixth with a distance of 13.97 meters (45-feet-10).

• The Auggies will travel to Collegeville, Minn., for the Saint John's University Invitational next Saturday (2/11).
