WAVERLY, Iowa -- After dropping a hard-fought match to host Wartburg College on Friday evening, the Augsburg University volleyball team rallied to post 3-1 victories over Waldorf University and Buena Vista University in nonconference tournament action on Saturday.
Macey Terhell (JR, Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS) was named to the all-tournament team for her outstanding performance.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Augsburg def. Buena Vista 3-1 (25-15, 25-18, 16-25, 25-23)

HOW IT HAPPENED (AGAINST BUENA VISTA)
• The Auggies hit a match-best .351 in the first set and cruised to a win in the second set before dropping the third set. Augsburg was able to take care of business, winning the fourth and final set 25-23 for the match victory.
• Terhell finished with 21 digs to lead the Auggie defense, which recorded 90+ team digs for the second time this season. Terhell has recorded double-digit digs in every match this season and has recorded 20-plus digs on seven occasions.
• Offensively, three Auggies finished with double-digit kills, led by 16 from
Taylor Linn (SR, Shoreview, Minn/Mounds View HS), who added 19 digs and a pair of aces.
Jordan Weeding (SR, Greenfield, Minn./Rockford HS) and Corrina Evans (FY, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) added 13 and 10 kills respectively.

Morgan Malley (JR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) posted her third straight 40-plus assist performance of the season, while adding a season-best 18 digs.
Stephanie Hechsel (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) and Sydnie Zachary (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson HS) added 14 and 11 digs respectively.
FOR THE FOES (BEAVERS)
• Jade Schaap led BVU with a team-best 16 kills, hitting .359 in the match and adding 22 digs.
• Kylie Roe picked up a match-best 33 digs, to go along with two kills and a service ace for the Beavers.

HOW IT HAPPENED (AGAINST WALDORF)
• After dropping the first set, Augsburg stormed back posting convincing wins in the second and third sets, before rallying from a 20-23 deficit to claim the decisive fourth-set victory.
• The Auggie offense was carried by middle hitters
Taylor Linn (SR, Shoreview, Minn/Mounds View HS) and Corrina Evans (FY, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS), who posted 16 and 10 kills respectively. The pair both hit over .345 in the match and combined for six blocks. Linn added 17 digs for her fifth kill-dig double-double of the season.

Morgan Malley (JR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) posted her third straight 40-plus assist performance of the season, while adding eight digs, a block and a service ace.
• In a career-best performance,
Stephanie Hechsel (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) recorded 14 digs, to go along with two aces and an assist.
• As a team, Augsburg hit .238 in the match, while holding Waldorf to a .172 hitting percentage.
FOR THE FOES (WARRIORS)
• Kyra Platzek led the Waldorf offense, finishing with 16 kills, hitting .245 in the match.
• Four Warriors finished with double-digit digs, led by Kaitlyn Monck, who picked up 19 digs, to go along with 11 kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED (AGAINST WARTBURG)
• After posting a convincing first-set win, the Auggies put together an amazing come-from-behind victory in the second set, before falling to the Knights in five sets.
• In a single-match season-best offensive effort, Evans posted 22 kills, hitting .306, while adding five blocks to lead Augsburg.
Taylor Linn (SR, Shoreview, Minn/Mounds View HS),
Jordan Weeding (SR, Greenfield, Minn./Rockford HS) and Sydnie Zachary (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson HS) added eight kills apiece.

Morgan Malley (JR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) recorded 46 assists in the effort, marking her sixth 40-plus assist performance of the season. Malley now has 410 assists on the season and is averaging 11.08 assists per-set.
• On the defensive side of the ball,
Macey Terhell (JR, Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS) led the way with a season-best 34 digs, while Linn and Zachary added 16 and 11 digs respectively.
FOR THE FOES (WARTBURG)
• Three Knights finished with double-digit kills, led by Aryn Jones, who posted 20 kills, while adding six blocks and five digs.
• Katie Foster recorded a team-best 23 digs, while Mallary Erbes and Maria Brown teamed up for 50 assists.
