In a first in the 35-year history of the Athletic Hall of Fame, a team was inducted. The 1956-57 “Auggiettes” women’s basketball team, coached by LaVonne Johnson Peterson ’50, was part of a squad that was unbeaten for three straight seasons. The Auggiettes played teams in the Minneapolis Park Board league, in addition to playing several local college women’s teams. Under Peterson, the Auggiettes complied a 125-5 record in 15 seasons from 1950-1965. Team members: Elaine Bernards, Carol Casperson, Aldemar Hagen, Betty Haas, Joanne Laird, Jeanette Locke, Jofy Miller, Ruth Olson, and Joyce Wuori.
