Angela Lawrence was a dominant middle-distance runner during her Augsburg career, earning All-Conference and NCAA All-Region honors twice in cross country, and earning five All-MIAC and five All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors in track and field. She finished 18th at the NCAA cross country Central Regional in 2004 and 30th in 2005, earning all-region honors both times. In track and field, Angela is still a part of six Augsburg school records, including five relay times and a 2:12.76 clocking in the outdoor 800-meter run. She earned berths in the NCAA national championships twice, in the indoor distance medley relay in 2004 and the outdoor 800-meter run in 2006. She earned MIAC Athlete of the Week honors three times and was part of two conference-champion relays in 2004. Angela also played one season of hockey at Augsburg, and was also a member of the Augsburg Choir. She was a biology major and was a member of Augsburg’s Tri-Beta Biology Honor Society. In 2009, she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, and has worked as a physical therapist for the Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing. She has continued to be active in running, completing two marathons, a handful of half-marathons and five Twin Cities 10-mile runs. She also plays piano in a musical trio at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing and coaches youth hockey. Angela and her husband Matthew have three children, Brynn, Mason and Hudson, and live in Red Wing, Minnesota.
