Arvold was one of the greats during the period when Augsburg’s wrestling program was establishing itself as a national power on the small-college level. Arvold won Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles three times -- at 142 pounds in 1979 and 1981, and at 150 pounds in 1982 -- while earning MIAC co-MVP honors his senior season. Also in his senior year, he earned NAIA All-American honors, finishing fifth at the national tournament at 142 pounds. While at Augsburg, he also participated in student government and the study abroad program. Arvold earned his degree in political science in 1982. He currently works as a sales manager for Canon Business Solutions, and lives in Plymouth, Minn. He has five children -- Alexander, Spencer, Aaron, Austin and Eliza.
