Carolyn Tuohy was one of the best middle hitters in the history of Augsburg volleyball. In her three seasons as an Auggie, she earned All-MIAC honors in 1994 and All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors in 1992. Her senior season, she led the team with 365 kills and 43 blocks, adding 45 service aces and 245 digs. She was voted team Most Valuable Player in 1992, when she recorded 184 kills, 36 blocks, 41 aces and 260 digs. She still ranks among the top 10 in school history in six categories, including ranking eighth in career kills with 878, and fifth in career kills per-set with 2.74. Carolyn earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration and international business in 1995. She began working in the investment banking industry after graduating from Augsburg, working in Boston and Chicago before returning to the Twin Cities, when she earned her doctorate in law from St. Thomas. As a lawyer, Carolyn worked for Thrivent Financial for 12 years and currently works for Pavillion Financial Corporation as a regulatory and investment lawyer. She has volunteered as a board member for the Blaisdell YMCA and for the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota. She has been active in triathlon and trail running, and completed her first marathon in 2016. Carolyn lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
