Dan Wenzel was one of the top baseball players in school history. He was a four-year starter as a pitcher and outfielder, earning All-MIAC honors in 1991, 1992, and 1993. Dan currently holds the school record for career strikeouts with 249 and ranks in the top five in five additional Augsburg career pitching categories, as well as appearing on eight single-season pitching record lists. At the plate, Dan was a .304 in career hitter who ranks seventh in school history in career RBI and is tied for seventh in career walks. He led MIAC in strikeouts in conference games in both 1992 and 1993, while ranking second in 1991. Dan graduated from Augsburg with a major in Business Management and currently owns his own property maintenance business. He remains active in coaching baseball and still plays recreational hockey and golf. Dan and his wife Jen, reside in Lino Lakes, Minnesota with their two sons Dylan and Dalton.
