Standout volleyball setter and softball pitcher, McIntyre was a seven-time captain and six time All-State selection. She led teams to Regional competition and was female Honor Athlete her senior year. McIntyre graduated from Augsburg with a major in Physical Education/ Adapted Physical Education and Corrective Therapy. Since 1982, she has worked as a Recreational Therapist at Minnesota Extended Treatment Options and received two achievement awards for outstanding work service.  McIntyre has been active in Special Olympics both as a coordinator and local coach for table tennis, basketball, bowling, golf, and volleyball. She has been a volunteer for youth programs at Peace Lutheran Church where she is also a chancel and infusion choir member and librarian. McIntyre and her husband, Vernon (Augsburg Grad ’80), have two daughters, Jessica and Amanda.
