Augsburg University Athletics

A three sport athlete at Augsburg in basketball, baseball and track, Holmes set a school record for the 220 yard dash of 22.1 seconds. After graduating from Augsburg, he went on to receive his master’s degree in Social Group Work in 1967, from the University of Denver, Colorado. He taught and coached at Delano High School from 1957 to 1959. Holmes worked for Hennepin County as a correction and probation officer from 1959 to 1992 and spent 21 years as an Assistant Superintendent of the Juvenile Detention Center. Holmes retired in March of 1992.
