Derrin Lamker, Class of 1997 … After quarterbacking Augsburg’s football team to the 1997 MIAC championship and several of its best seasons in school history, Derrin Lamker moved into teaching and coaching, where he has become one of the most successful young football coaches in Minnesota. He served as head coach at Osseo High School for 11 years, winning three Northwest Suburban Conference titles, two section championships and the Minnesota Class 6A state title in 2015. He had a 74-39 career record at Osseo, including an 11-3 record in 2015. He earned conference Coach of the Year honors three times, and coached the North squad in the state high school all-star game in 2015, his second time on the all-star staff. Previously, he was an assistant coach for the Auggies for five seasons and offensive coordinator at Robbinsdale Armstrong for three years. This season he began work as offensive coordinator at Edina High School, serving on Augsburg alum Reed Boltmann’s staff. During his post-Augsburg years, he has also coached basketball and baseball, and is currently chair of the physical education department at Osseo Senior High. As an Augsburg athlete, he played football, basketball and baseball. As Augsburg’s quarterback, he earned MIAC MVP honors in the 1997 championship and NCAA tournament season and was a Gagliardi Trophy finalist. He was a two-time All-MIAC honoree in football, throwing for 6,624 yards and 46 touchdowns in his career. Derrin and his wife Amy have two daughters, Jordyn and Shea, and live in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
