Nelson served as student trainer in 1975 and a part-time trainer and equipment manager from 1976-79. He joined the Augsburg staff full-time in the 1980 as men’s and women’s athletic trainer, men’s equipment manager and assistant baseball coach among other duties. Nelson was an assistant trainer at Minnesota Twins home games from 1987-90 and full-time assistant athletic trainer with Minnesota Twins since May 1990.
