Conboy has been successful as a high school coach at Silver Bay, Minnesota. He has coached football for 20 years, 16 as a head coach, hockey for 13 years, 2 as a head coach and baseball for 8 years, 2 as a head coach. After graduating from Augsburg, Conboy earned his master’s degree from St. Thomas in 1985 and his Administrative Certification from St. Cloud State University in 2001. He was Grand Marais High School Principal from 2001-2003 and moved to Renidle to take a superintendent position from 2003-2006. In 2006, he became the Superintendent of Schools for Mora. He stayed there until he retired from the State of Minnesota in 2009. Conboy has be active in the Minnesota Education Association in various capacities and is currently serving as member of the State Board of Directors of M.E.A and also the Chair of the Legislative Contact Subcommittee. He is currently serving as Superintendent of Schools in Chevak, Alaska.
