An outstanding athlete in both football and men’s hockey at Augsburg, Privette has remained loyal to his alma mater, where he has worked for the past 18 years. Privette earned All-MIAC honors as a football wide receiver in 1987 and 1988, finishing his career with 146 receptions for 1,792 yards and 15 touchdowns. In hockey, he was an All-MIAC honorable-mention forward in 1986-87 and 1988-89, finishing with 24 goals and 28 assists for 52 points in 94 career games. He had 10-plus points in each of his four hockey seasons. In addition, he also played golf for one season at Augsburg. A physical education major at Augsburg, he graduated in 1989, and currently works as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach for the Auggie football team, as well as serving as the college’s co-director of athletic department concessions and merchandising. As a coach, he has directed the pass-oriented “Air Auggie Spread” offense, and has coached the top three passing quarterbacks in school history -- Jordan Berg (2005-08), Derrin Lamker (1993-97) and Paul Tetzloff (1996, 1998-2000). In his role as men’s athletic recruiting coordinator, he has brought 44 first-team All-MIAC performers and 10 NCAA Division III All-Americans to Augsburg. Privette, his wife Molly and daughter Anna live in Mahtomedi, Minn.
