Augsburg University Athletics

A co-captain on Augsburg’s 1973-74 wrestling team that finished fifth in the NAIA national tournament, Solem finished fourth in the country to earn All-American honors in his senior season. After losing his first match in the national tournament, he won seven matches in a row to place fourth. Since graduating from Augsburg, Solem has been a teacher and administrator in the White Bear Lake School District, most recently as principal of White Bear Lake High School’s north campus. After 35 years, Solem retired and now lives in Chisago City, Minnesota.
