Jamie Osberg was an outstanding linebacker for Augsburg’s football teams of the early 1990s, playing for his father, head coach and Hall of Famer Jack Osberg. He earned All-MIAC first-team honors in his senior season, 1994, and earned All-MIAC second-team honors his junior season and all-conference honorable mention honors his sophomore year. He finished his career with 342 tackles, six interceptions and three fumble recoveries. He had 117 tackles his sophomore year, 109 tackles his junior year and 88 tackles his senior year, in which he served as a team captain. He earned Augsburg’s Best Team Player award and Auggie Award twice each, and was also named the team’s Defensive MVP his senior year. He was a Division II/Division III All-Star participant his senior year. Jamie was a biology major and chemistry minor at Augsburg, and was a member of the football team’s Academic Club his senior year. After graduating from Augsburg, Jamie moved into the health care field, working for Medtronic for 18 years, in both Houston and Minneapolis, assisting cardiologists and electrophysiologists with cardiac pacemaker and ICD implantation, and patient follow up. For the past 10 years, Jamie has worked for Biosense Webster as a territory manager in the Twin Cities, focusing on electrophysiology, cardiac mapping and ablation procedures. Away from work, he has served as a youth sports coach in hockey, baseball and football in Minnetonka. Jamie and his wife, Jen, have three sons, Emerson, Ben and Nick, and live in Wayzata, Minnesota.
