Jeoffrey Reed will be remembered as one of the best point guards in Augsburg’s men’s basketball history. He was a member of teams that went 77-26 in his four years, winning the MIAC regular-season title and reaching the NCAA Division III national playoffs in his sophomore and junior seasons, while making the MIAC playoffs all four of his seasons. He was a two-year starter at point guard, earning All-MIAC first-team honors in his senior year and All-MIAC Defensive Team honors in both his junior and senior campaigns. Jeoffrey scored 791 points in his career, averaging 8.9 points per-game, while setting a school record that still stands with 171 career steals. His 257 assists are fifth-most in school history. He averaged 9.4 points per-game with 86 rebounds and 97 steals his junior year, then averaged 14.3 points per-game with 74 assists and 92 rebounds in the 1999-2000 season, when he was named MIAC Player of the Year and was named to the Lutheran College All-America first team. Jeoffrey was a history major at Augsburg, and was active in the Pan-Afrikan Student Union. He was named both Homecoming King and Pan-Afrikan Student of the Year in his senior year. After graduating from Augsburg, he went on to earn his master’s degree and educational leadership, and his K-12 administrators license from Saint Mary’s University. He has worked in education for the last 20 years, and currently serves in the Mounds View school district as Dean of Students at Irondale High School. Jeoffrey and his wife, Shante, have two children, Jeoffrey Jr. and Justice, and live in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
