Jodi (Divinski) Walfoort, Class of 1993 … Jodi Walfoort was an unconventional student-athlete during her days at Augsburg. She competed in her first athletic season in 1991 at the age of 25, with a four-year-old daughter, when the Auggies re-started their cross country program. She made the most of her two years as a runner, earning All-Region honors twice with an 11th-place finish in 1991 and 18th-place finish in 1992, each time just missing out on a spot in the national championships. At the MIAC Championships, she finished 11th in 1991 and 25th in 1992, and she was voted the team’s MVP each of the two years. In track and field, she recorded top-15 finishes five times in middle-distance conference competition, including a third-place finish in the 5,000-meter run at the 1992 MIAC outdoor championships. She earned Dean’s List and Academic All-MIAC honors and graduated with honors, majoring in management information systems and minoring in computer science. Jodi began her professional career at Grow Biz International as she worked her way up the IT ladder. In January 2005, she moved into commercial real estate, eventually starting her own company, Atlas Commercial Realty. Jodi has completed specialty medical training and is very involved in the care of her granddaughter who has a rare neuromuscular condition. Jodi is also an avid broomball player and competes at the highest levels, participating in several world, national and state tournaments. She married Bob Walfoort in 2004 and has a daughter, three stepsons and a granddaughter. The Walfoorts live in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
