Joel Tveite, Class of 1992 … Joel Tveite was an all-around talent for the Augsburg baseball team, playing both pitcher and third base. On the mound, he finished his career with 21 victories, the second-most in school history, while his 28 complete games, 253 innings pitched and 36 starts are all school records. His 205 strikeouts are third-most in school history, while his four shutouts in 1992 are tied for a single-season record. At the plate, he collected 84 hits, 41 runs batted in and 48 runs scored, hitting .252 with 15 doubles. He earned All-MIAC honors in 1992 after going 7-5 with a 2.83 ERA and 71 strikeouts, while also hitting .268. He was a two-year captain for the Auggies, and listed his greatest highlight as pitching a one-hit victory over Saint John’s. He also played basketball and golf during his Auggie years. Joel was an accounting and finance major at Augsburg, and after graduating, he has worked in accounting and management positions for several companies, including ConAgra, Jostens and Blue Cross. For the past 11 years, he has worked as controller and chief financial officer for Wedding Day Diamonds. He has also been active in multiple baseball and basketball leagues both as a player and coach. He has been very active with Lakeville North’s youth baseball and basketball programs, serving as a coach, treasurer and official. Joel and his wife Lisa, a 1993 Augsburg Alumnae, have two sons, Trevor and Peter, and live in Lakeville, Minnesota.
