A two-sport athlete at Augsburg (football & baseball), Fahlberg earned All-MIAC honorable mention honors in football in 1966, when as the Auggies’ quarterback, he led the MIAC in passing, completing 55 percent of his passes and throwing seven touchdown passes in a span of two consecutive games. He finished his football career completing 152 passes for 1, 967 yards and 13 touchdowns, all totals in the top 15 in school history. He was also a four-year pitcher for the Auggie baseball team. After graduating from Augsburg, he earned his MBA at the University of Minnesota (1970) and CPA license in 1973. He worked in systems, finance and accounting at Exxon, held finance and accounting positions at Target Stores, became the CEO of Zycad Corporation, a special purpose supercomputer company and was EVP Business Development for LinksCorp, a golf course owner and management company. He and his wife, Marty, have lived in Chapel Hill, North Carolina since 2001 where John is a leadership development consultant and executive coach.
