A member of Auggie softball teams that won the MIAC title all four years she competed (1980, 1981, 1982, 1983), Goldstein Cherney was the school’s Women’s Honor Athlete award-winner in 1983. The Auggies won the Minnesota AIAW state championships all four seasons she competed, finished fourth in the region in 1980 and second in 1982, 13th in the AIAW national tournament in 1982 and was a regional participant in the NCAA Division III West Regional in 1983. A third baseman, Goldstein Cherney earned All-Tournament Team honors in the region tournament in 1982 and MAIAW All-State Tournament Team honors in 1980 and 1982. She also competed in women’s basketball at Augsburg, and was a team captain in both sports. After graduating from Augsburg with a marketing degree, she began working in the commercial real estate industry and currently works as a broker for NorthMarq Real Estate Services. She and her husband, Jon Cherney live in Plymouth, Minnesota. Goldstein Cherney has two children Maddee and Natalee.
