Sneider was an outstanding football and track and field athlete in the late ‘60s at Augsburg. As a wide receiver in football, Sneider set several receiving records that stood for nearly three decades. He still remains in the top-10 list in school-record categories for career receptions (91), yards (1,723) and touchdowns (19). In a 1966 game against Macalester, he caught four touchdowns, which remains tied for the school record for touchdowns in a single game. He was an All-MIAC honoree, and in track and field, was part of a school-record-setting 440-yard relay squad. After his Augsburg years concluded, he played one season in the Canadian Football League for the Spokane Shocker (1969). He tried out for the San Diego Chargers, but was injured and cut from the squad. He earned a physical education degree from Augsburg and began his teaching career in 1970. He currently works as a teacher in the Minnesota River Valley Special Education Cooperative in Jordan, Minnesota. He and his partner, Andra VanDyne, have twin daughters Ashley and Larissa, and live in Glencoe, Minnesota.
