An NAIA men’s hockey All-American in 1982, Gordon was a member of Auggie teams that won the NAIA national championship in both 1981 and 1982. Gordon was a member of Auggie teams that won three straight MIAC championships (1980, 1981, and 1982) and he earned All-MIAC honors in both 1980 and 1982, leading the team in scoring both seasons. He was voted team Most Valuable Player in both 1980 and 1982, and was team captain in 1981 (injured) and 1982. His 30 goals in 1979-80 are the second-most in a single season in school history. He finished his career with 108 points (57 goals, 51 assists). He later served as an assistant coach on the Augsburg squad that finished fourth in the NCAA Division III national tournament in 1984. Since graduating from Augsburg, Gordon has worked as a physical education teacher, first at St. Michael-Albertville and now in International Falls, Minnesota.  As varsity boys’ hockey coach at International Falls from 1995-2003, his squads reached Minnesota state tournaments three times, winning the state crown in 1995. Gordon and his wife, Kelly have three children, Ben, Jena, and Sydney, and live in International Falls, Minnesota.
