Lauren Chezick May set many records as one of the top players in Augsburg's women's hockey history. A three-year captain on teams that made the M-I-A-C playoffs all three of those seasons, Lauren was the first Augsburg women's hockey player to ever earn All-M-I-A-C honors all four years of her career. She earned M-I-A-C Player of the Year honors and was named an A-H-C-A Division III All-American in 2003, when she led all Division III players with 57 points, still a single-season school record. Her 32 assists that year are also a single-season record. She played in 102 career games and established Augsburg career records with 137 points and 82 assists. Her 68 goals are second-most in school history. Her 11 career power-play goals are tied for fifth-most in school history, and she finished her career with a plus-27 plus-minus rating. A pre-law and communications major with a 3.56 G-P-A, Lauren earned Dean's List honors five semesters, was a three-year Academic All-MIAC honoree and earned coaches association and CoSIDA Academic All-District honors. After graduating from Augsburg in 2005, she went on to law school at Hamline, where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2009. For the past 10 years, Lauren has worked at Thomson Reuters in various capacities, and is now the director of channel and market enablement for global large law firms. She married another Augsburg hockey alum, David May, in 2007. They have three children -- Jackson, Taylor and Genevieve -- and live in Farmington, Minnesota.
