Augsburg University Athletics

Ness-Trainor was a member of two sports teams at Augsburg, playing softball for two seasons and volleyball for four seasons. She earned All-Conference and MIAC All-Tournament team honors in volleyball in her sophomore season, 1979. She started all four seasons of volleyball for the Auggies. Since graduating form Augsburg with a degree in Physical Education (K-12), Adaptive P.E. (K-12),  and Coaching (K-12) with a Health minor. Ness-Trainor has served as a teacher and coach in the Osseo School District for 10 years. She has helped to develop USTA Tennis programs for youth and adults in Maple Grove, Minnesota, and has been an active member and teacher at Lord of Life Lutheran Church. She is an active member of the Minnesota Distance Running Association and North Suburban Striders Running Club. Ness-Trainor is also an active member in the Minnesota Trail Series race program, winning both the overall women’s and 40-49 age group in 2003 and 2008. Ness-Trainor and her husband, Joseph have two children, Daniel Joseph and Elizabeth Ann, and live in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
