Herzog earned All-MIAC honors in two sports, baseball, and men’s hockey. A three-time All-MIAC selection and two-time captain in baseball, Herzog earned team MVP honors his junior and senior seasons. He finished his baseball career with a .379 batting average (148-of-390), 104 runs scored, 104 RBIs, 289 doubles, 13 triples, and 16 homeruns in 128 career games. The Auggies went 79-59 in his four seasons, with two second-place MIAC finishes and two fourth-place conference finishes. In hockey, Herzog was a four-year letterwinner, scoring 26 goals and 35 assists for 61 points in 75 career games. He earned All-MIAC honorable-mention honors twice in hockey, scoring 14 goals with 17 assists in 37 MIAC games in his career. He was an alternate captain his senior season, and was part of an Auggie team that finished fourth nationally his junior campaign. Herzog majored in management information systems and minored in business at Augsburg. Herzog continued his baseball career on the amateur level, playing for 20 years with the Highland Park team in St. Paul. His teams won two state titles and was selected to Class A Baseball Hall of Fame for St. Paul Amateur Baseball. Herzog owns his own lifestyle and business development firm, Team High Impact, Inc. He lives in Oakdale, Minnesota, with his wife, Angela, and their four daughters, Claire, Rachel, Emily and Olivia.
