Klinefelter Resch was a member of the basketball and softball teams in the early years of women’s intercollegiate athletics in the early 1970s. She earned the school’s Women’s Intercollegiate Athletic Award in basketball all four years, and graduated Cum Laude with a health and physical education major in 1973. She said that she is most proud of “helping to establish the first steps to have women’s sports recognized” at Augsburg. After graduation, she worked for more than 20 years as a teacher and coach in the Glencoe-Silver Lake school district, coaching basketball, volleyball, and softball. She earned the Class AA Coach of the Year honors from her peers in girls’ basketball in 1998. She has also worked as a dental assistant, financial worker, public health educator, and has volunteered for numerous activities in her church and community. She and her husband David have three children, sons Nathan and Dan, daughter Jennifer, and currently own a 45-acre sheep farm in Glencoe, Minnesota, raising show lambs for buyers from all over the nation.
