Boyer earned All-American honors in 1988 as a softball outfielder, earning All-MIAC honors three years in a row (1987, 1988, and 1989). Her .495 batting average in 1988 is the best single-season performance in school history, and her career .365 average stands fifth-best in school history. In basketball, Boyer was one of only five players in school history to score more than 1,000 points in her career, finishing with 1,019 points. She is third in school history in career field goals (437), assists (249) and steals (195). Boyer earned All-MIAC honorable-mention honors in basketball in 1984-85 and All-MIAC honors in 1986-87 and 1987-88. She was in the Honors Program and a President’s Scholar all four years, along with earning the Augsburg Senior Honor Athlete award in 1989. She currently works in the social work field, as program director for Clare Housing, a non-profit agency in Minneapolis that provides housing and services to people with HIV/AIDS. Boyer was also active in women’s rugby, having played for the Twin Cities Amazons team from 1988 until 2005, when she retired. She was on the U.S. Women’s National Rugby Team from 1992-94. Boyer and her partner, Melissa Conway, live in Minneapolis, Minnesota with their two children Evan and Elizabeth.
