Paul Holmquist was a key member of some of the most successful men’s hockey teams in Augsburg history. He played on Auggie teams that won MIAC titles in 1978 and 1979, qualified for the NAIA national tournament all four of his seasons, and won the NAIA national championship in 1978. Auggie teams were 75-31-1 in his four seasons, including a 49-8-1 mark in MIAC play and an unbeaten 13-0-1 mark in league play in the 1978-79 season. Paul earned All-MIAC honorable mention honors and team MVP honors in his senior season. He finished his 84-game collegiate career with 13 goals and 38 assists for 51 points, including 10 goals and 12 assists in his senior year and double-digit assist totals in three of his four seasons. He was also a two-year member of Augsburg’s football team. Paul earned his degree in finance from Augsburg, and has spent the past 30 years working in the investment industry, both as a chief financial officer and chief executive officer. For the last eight years, he has lived and worked in Israel, serving as owner and CEO of a digital payment solution company in the Middle East and Asia. He also received a certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, for Outstanding and Invaluable Service to the Community. Paul has two children, son Mason and daughter Myah, and lives in Kyriat Ekron, Israel.
