One of the top distance runners in school history, Ormsby earned NCAA Division III All-American honors in 1995 in cross country, when she finished 10th at the national meet. She qualified for the nation meet in 1996, but was unable to compete due to injury. In track and field, Ormsby earned All-MIAC honors four times, while setting records in the indoor and outdoor 3,000 meter (10:33.73 indoor, 10:30.46 outdoor) and 5,000-meter (18:20.07 indoor, 18:21.97 outdoor) that still stand today. A history/chemistry major with a 3.83 GPA, Ormsby graduated summa cum laude from Augsburg in 1997 and was named to the Dean’s list every semester of her college years. She earned Academic All-Region honors twice, and was named the Minnesota NCAA Woman of the Year in 1996-97 for her outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, and community leadership. She was also named an Augsburg Honor Athlete in 1997. As a student at the University of Minnesota Medical School, she continued her volunteer work, working at the Cedar-Riverside Peoples Center, visiting local high schools to discuss health topics and spending a month working at a hospital in Sweden. She served a residency from 2001-05 in obstetrics and gynecology through the University of Minnesota and now works for Associates in Women’s Health, a Twin Cities obstetrics and gynecology group. She continues to run, and has compete in seven marathons. Ormsby lives in Minneapolis with her partner ,Dave, and two children, Isaac and Alma.
