Augsburg University Athletics

Lockwood was Augsburg Honor Athlete and earned 11 letters. He scored two touchdowns and passed for three touchdowns in one game at Parade Stadium. After graduation, he taught and coached for 42 years in Golden Valley and Hopkins District 270. At Golden Valley High School Lockwood was the head baseball coach from 1957-80, the head basketball coach from 1957-61, and retired in June 1994. From 1994-98, he was a substitute teacher and coached football, baseball, flag football, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls track and field,  volleyball, tennis, table tennis, badminton and softball. Lockwood and his wife, Mary, also an Augsburg grad ’58, live in Surprise, Arizona.
