Augsburg University Athletics

Johnson was a two-time All-American wrestler and three-time MIAC champion at 134 pounds. He was a team captain and ranks 16^th on the Auggies’ all-time career win list (104). He was  the first wrestler ever to break 100 the win mark. Johnson gained success as a wrestling coach at the high school and Division III college level. After graduating from Augsburg, he received his master’s degree from St. Thomas in 1974 and his administrative licensure from Mankato State in 1990.
