Nayman was a three-sport star at Augsburg in the early ‘80s, playing hockey, football and baseball and earning 10 varsity letters. In hockey, Nayman earned MIAC Player of the Year honors in 1983 and was a two-time All-MIAC selection (honorable mention 1982, first-team in 1983). He was a part of conference title and NAIA national tournament teams in 1980, 1981, 1982, as well as Augsburg’s NAIA national championship team in 1981 and 1982. He finished his career with 53 goals, 53 assists and 106 points in 73 varsity games, including 73 points (35 goals, 38 assists) in MIAC play. In baseball, Nayman was an all-conference outfielder in his junior and senior seasons, ending his four seasons with a career batting average of .345, 15 homeruns, 62 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. In football, Nayman played three seasons as a defensive back, compiling three interceptions in his career. Nayman graduated from Augsburg with a degree in communications (journalism minor). After graduating he formed a band with his brothers, Dan, Greg and Mike called the “Nayman Brothers”. In 1990, he joined Asian Foods Inc., where he is still employed today as operations manager. He was also active in organized hockey and baseball where he spent over 25 seasons with the Highland Park Amateur Baseball Association before retiring. Nayman and his wife, Melissa, have two children, Lance and Vince and live in St. Paul, Minnesota.
