A four-year member of Augsburg’s softball team and two-year member of the women’s basketball team, Peterson was an outfielder on two MAIAW state tournament championship[ teams (1980, 1981), compiling records of 21-4 and 19-14 in those seasons. An All-MAIAW/All-Region selection in 1981, Peterson hit 10 triples and three home runs in her career, fourth all-time in school history. She also holds the record for “Fewest Strikeouts” in her career with 14 (min 150 at-bats). Her slugging percentage of .625 in 1979 is third best in a single season. Peterson is currently the Executive Program Director of the Master of Education in Teaching and Learning Program of St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. She is a former teacher of 19 years from the Rosemount/ Apple Valley / Eagan School District. She also has worked with several Augsburg education students and is on the college’s education department advisory board, alumni executive committee and Hall of Fame committee. Peterson lives in Burnsville, Minnesota.
