Augsburg University Athletics

Miller was captain of both the football and baseball teams and was named Honor Athlete in 1942. After graduating from Augsburg, he became a navy pilot during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theatre flying patrol bombers from June of 1942 to the end of December 1945. He attended the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities after the war to earn his master’s degree in Education. Then he worked for the St. Paul YMCA as a camp director before going to work for Hennepin County.
