A member of Augsburg’s football and hockey teams Lundgren earned All-MIAC honors in hockey on teams that earned NAIA national tournament trips twice. He scored 44 goals and 49 assists for 93 points in his hockey career. In football, he was a halfback and gained 391 career years for the Auggies. He also set a school-record with a 97-yard punt return for a touchdown. Since graduating, he has served as a teacher and coach in middle and senior high schools in the northern suburbs. He currently teaches physical education at the Northdale Middle School in the Anoka-Hennepin School District. He coached football at Anoka High School for two years and hockey at Irondale High School for four years, reaching the state hockey tournament three times. Since 1981, he has coached football, volleyball, basketball and softball at the middle-school level. Last summer, Lundgren was part of a coaching staff for a Minnesota senior all-star team that played in the “Down Under Bowl” in Australia. He has two children, Kelly and Jeffrey, and lives in Shoreview, Minnesota.
