Ross was named Most Valuable Player three times in his career, Lake Forest Tournament Outstanding Goaltender, All-MIAC selection in both his junior and senior years and also earned NAIA All-American honors in hockey as a goalie his senior year while being team captain. He graduated from Augsburg with a Physical Education and Health and Art Education degree and later went on to receive his master’s degree from St. Scholastics in 1992. He was employed by Augsburg for six years as admissions representative and assistant hockey coach. He was at the College of St. Scholastica as head hockey and softball coach for eight years and also taught at St. Paul Academy and Summit School for 18 years where he coached hockey (9 years), softball (15 years), and football (12 years). Since 2002, Ross has been the head hockey coach at Minneapolis East High School. Ross currently lives with his wife, Pam, and they have four children; Heather, Katie, Jolene, and Luke.
